Facebook – Danger Danger Will Robinson!

I have to begin this story by telling you I am no longer a participant on Facebook.

I was up on Facebook for a while last year, trying to participate in a group of my classmates who were planning a High School Class Reunion.

Two weeks of listening to the insipid rantings of people I had not seen for 30 years was enough for me. I closed my account. Or at least I thought I did….

Godaddy Spam Response

The other day I received a SPAM at one of my domains that was obviously from a GODADDY hosted domain.

I reported this SPAM to both GODADDY and Level3.

I got an almost immediate response from Level3 and nothing from GODADDY until today.

Today I received an email from GODADDY thanking me for reporting MY DOMAIN to them as a SPAMMER.

Save MySQL

Privacy and the Internet

If you think you have any privacy on the Internet, Dream On!

The other day I wanted to respond to an ad that someone locally had placed. It was an obscure ad with only a phone number listed for the business. It gave little or no detail about the business, so I used Google to see if I could find out more.

It’s amazing how the path of information kept growing far above and beyond what I originally intended to find out. Continue reading to see just where that path went.

Net Neutrality

Here’s the laymen’s version of what is becoming a hot topic among the Geeks and what may finally be solved by a combination of efforts from the FCC and Congress.

Since the beginning, the Internet has always been open turf. Anyone could provide content and everyone would get equal access to that content.

For a while now, the large telecommunications and cable companies who provide the technical “backbone” of the internet, have been fighting to try to restrict some of the content on their networks.
